Description:

The HPT Stack is a three piece, high pressure, double acting piston or rod seal. Specifically designed for a sliding sleeve tool and very commonly used as a VTR/ATR seal stack replacement. The HPT Stack has proven to be a superior alternative to your standard multi-v stack configurations and offers excellent adaptation possibilities for diverse temperatures and media by selection of suitable materials.

For high impact applications, such as a sliding sleeve. The shifts of the port from open to close is done by some significant force. This impact can cause catastrophic failure to the sealing lips on the individual v’s, whereas the HPT Stack has a very unique geometry, making its ability to absorb these forces quite significant.

Conclusion

Vees on side A of simulation have high stress points as expected due to pressure blow-by. Vees on side B have similar stress characteristics due to high pressure differential causing potential failure. Deformation of Vees in both directions may potentially cause failure due to fouling on ports when in operation.
