Diverse Applications and Materials

Non-Metallic Gaskets

Book A Meeting

Overview

Non-metallic gaskets, crafted from a variety of soft, flexible materials such as compressed fiber, PTFE, rubber, and graphite, offer a broad range of sealing solutions for diverse applications. These gaskets excel in providing effective seals at lower bolt loads, making them suitable for applications ranging from water and steam to oils and chemicals. Their versatility extends to a wide temperature and pressure spectrum, accommodating everything from low-pressure water systems to high-temperature steam lines. The choice of material—be it for chemical resistance, thermal stability, or compressibility—ensures that there’s a non-metallic gasket fit for nearly any industrial sealing requirement.

Products

Compressed Non-Asbestos Fiber (CNAF) Gaskets

These gaskets are made from fibrous materials (like aramid or cellulose) mixed with a binder (NBR, SBR, etc.) to create a dense, flexible sheet material. They are used in a wide range of general-purpose applications across various industries, including water, oil, and mild chemicals.

Flexible Graphite Gaskets

Made from exfoliated graphite, these gaskets have excellent resistance to heat and chemicals, making them suitable for high-temperature applications, steam, and most chemicals, except for highly oxidizing agents.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) Gaskets

PTFE gaskets offer outstanding chemical resistance and are suitable for use with nearly all industrial fluids, except molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine. They are often used in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and other applications requiring clean, non-contaminating materials.

Rubber (Elastomeric) Gaskets

Available in various materials (e.g., NBR, EPDM, Silicone, Viton), rubber gaskets are used for their flexibility, resilience, and ability to seal under low bolt loads. They’re commonly used for water, mild acids, gases, and other low-to-medium temperature and pressure applications.

Cork and Cork Rubber Gaskets

Used for their compressibility and flexibility, cork gaskets are ideal for applications requiring low to medium bolt loads. They are commonly found in automotive, electrical, and low-pressure applications.
