Custom molded or machined Packer Elements with various back-up options

Packer Elements

Overview

Packer elements are critical components used in oil and gas production to create seals between sections of tubing, preventing fluid and pressure leaks, and protecting the casing and wellbore. They are designed to operate in harsh downhole conditions and are made from elastomers compatible with the media they seal. These elements are essential for maintaining well integrity and preventing corrosion, which extends the life of the well and reduces the need for costly repairs.

Our packer elements are designed to be compatible with a variety of completion tools, offering high expansion and extrusion resistance. They are capable of performing across a broad temperature range, including high-pressure and high-temperature conditions. Additionally, we offer compounds that are certified to meet NORSOK M-710, API 11D1 V0 , and ISO 23936 standards, ensuring their reliability and effectiveness in demanding environments.

At KC Seals, we also pride ourselves on our ability to provide customized solutions, with the ability to manufacture packer elements in custom profiles, thicknesses, and lengths to perfectly meet unique operational requirements. We also have developed a range of solutions that have demonstrated their effectiveness in downhole applications, including:

  • Retrievable packer element with metal spring backup (API 11D1 V0 Approved).
  • Sub-assembly elements
  • Packer element with PEEK and PTFE backups

Rubber Billets

Finally, we offer in-house molding of rubber tubes (billets) that can be machined into packer elements up to 5 3/4 inches in length. This is particularly advantageous for small quantity projects or R&D initiatives, as it eliminates the need for costly tooling. Additionally, because our tubes (billets) are molded rather than wrapped, you can be assured that the compound used during the R&D phase will be identical to the one used in full-scale production.

For more information or to discuss your specific needs, please contact us at KC Seals by simply booking a meeting with us online. We look forward to providing you with the highest quality sealing solutions for your applications.
